Important information

After booking with us you’ll receive a confirmation email. Please read through the email carefully and ensure all details are correct. If you don’t receive a confirmation email from us, please get in contact with our friendly team.

Our terms and conditions and our generous 24hr cancellation policy can be found here.

All participants need to complete the eWaiver before the tour/activity start time. Here is the link to our waiver. It’s one eWaiver per booking, no matter how many Wandering Owl activities you join. If you have been on tour with us in the last 12 months, you do not need to complete another waiver.

It’s a great idea to dress in layers, so as you warm up or cool down, you can add and remove layers. We suggest: woollen base layer, woollen sweater, down mid layer and a shell or windproof jacket as the final layer. Jeans, especially skinny jeans, aren’t windproof, nor do they have any thermal qualities. High heels and fashion shoes are unsuitable.

We suggest downloading WhatsApp before travelling to Norway. We prefer to use WhatsApp or email when communicating with our guests. Remember to keep your phone handy on the day of the tour in case we need to make last-minute changes or communicate with you.

We never cancel simply because the forecast says it might be cloudy. We will make the decision on the route or other changes based on safety considerations. If there is no snow, or not much snow, we’ll hike instead of snowshoe.

Wandering Owl is eco-certified by Travelife. This means we meet international sustainability standards and take real action to protect the Arctic environment. From small group sizes to reducing waste and supporting local communities, we believe every choice matters. Responsible travel is at the heart of what we do.

Stories From Our Happy Explorers

Fun activity for a snowy day in Tromso

Fun and great activity for a snowy day in Tromso. Our guide Evgen asked the group what level of difficulty we all wanted and he catered to our needs.
For some it was the first time on snowshoes and everything went just amazing. Demanding hill with amazing views and great stories from Evgen

Giselle B

Snowshoeing from Tromso

Had a great hike with Anna. The weather was superb and landscape so beautiful. We hiked on the beautiful island of Kvaløya and went all the way to the Lavvu of Ersfjord. Stopped off at the Lavvu for sandwich and a warm drink. Me and my family had a great time. Highly recommend.

Amazing Arctic walk with Max!

We took a small group snowshoeing tour with Max. The views were beautiful. Max was incredibly knowledgeable and showed us all sorts of interesting natural phenomena. We stopped for a picnic with delicious sandwiches and hot drinks. The tea was especially tasty. All in all, a great experience. I would highly recommend if you want to do something outdoors free of the stress of chasing the lights.
