Experience: The Arctic Wilderness.

We take you deep into wild places where the Arctic feels raw and real. It’s not about crowded trails but quiet nights under the Northern Lights, surrounded by untouched nature. You’ll be far from city lights, fully present in the vastness of the Arctic wilderness. This is where you connect with the land and sky in a way few ever do.

Taste: Local homemade food by the fire.

We light a warm campfire to create a cosy atmosphere while you relax and enjoy homemade hot soup prepared just for you. You can also try traditional “coca” coffee, brewed right on the fire, or enjoy a rich hot chocolate made in our kitchen. The fire adds that special touch, making every sip and bite feel welcoming and authentic.

Challenge yourself: The Arctic cold.

The Arctic cold is a real challenge — but with the right gear, including thermal suits we provide, it’s one you can enjoy. The crisp air and snowy nights push you a bit, but that’s part of the adventure. It makes every moment outside feel sharper and more alive.

Help the local environment.

By joining us, you’re not only experiencing the magic of the Northern Lights but also helping protect the local environment!  We’re committed to conservation, regenerative travel, and protecting the Arctic nature. During our time together in the wilderness, we’ll follow a scientific method to collect valuable data for one of our citizen science projects. After gathering data, it’s uploaded to our research partners’ database, where it’s used in environmental studies and to guide our Responsible Tourism Project, where we work with other local tourism professionals.

Important information

After booking with us you’ll receive a confirmation email. Please read through the email carefully and ensure all details are correct. If you don’t receive a confirmation email from us, please get in contact with our friendly team.

Our terms and conditions and our generous 24hr cancellation policy can be found here.

All participants need to complete the eWaiver before the tour/activity start time. Here is the link to our waiver. It’s one eWaiver per booking, no matter how many Wandering Owl activities you join. If you have been on tour with us in the last 12 months, you do not need to complete another waiver.

It’s a great idea to dress in layers, so as you warm up or cool down, you can add and remove layers. We suggest: woollen base layer, woollen sweater, down mid layer and a shell or windproof jacket as the final layer. Jeans, especially skinny jeans, aren’t windproof, nor do they have any thermal qualities. High heels and fashion shoes are unsuitable.

We suggest downloading WhatsApp before travelling to Norway. We prefer to use WhatsApp or email when communicating with our guests. Remember to keep your phone handy on the day of the tour in case we need to make last-minute changes or communicate with you.

Special Winter Day Deal: Add Winter Arctic Landscapes to your shopping cart & automatically get 10% off the day tour.

We offer a generous cancellation policy: guests can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before the tour. After that, bookings become non-refundable.
Please note that we never cancel a tour just because the forecast shows clouds. Our team knows that the Aurora can still appear—even on cloudy nights—and we often succeed in finding clear skies. You can learn more about our approach in the Northern Lights blog category.

Wandering Owl is eco-certified by Travelife. This means we meet international sustainability standards and take real action to protect the Arctic environment. From small group sizes to reducing waste and supporting local communities, we believe every choice matters. Responsible travel is at the heart of what we do.

Stories From Our Happy Explorers

Excellent guides and tour company.

I was delighted with the trip. Lucas was an intelligent, informative guide. Yes, we had to travel a long way, yes the lights were not as dramatic as they sometimes are, but the whole experience was magical. I was especially impressed with the respect for the environment and the use of reusable utensils rather than single use disposable cups.

A Magical Night with Wandering Owl

This tour was beyond incredible! It’s a small group, so we got to know everyone. With adults-only, people were willing to drive and stay out late (though we didn’t have to!). Tomas, our guide, was outstanding – as a guide sharing knowledge, conversationalist, finder-of-amazing spots, photographer, and just over-all good person.

Amazing Northern Lights Tour with Wandering Owl!

Our experience with Wandering Owl was absolutely unforgettable! Our guide, Tomas, was incredible—knowledgeable, friendly, and truly passionate about making sure we had the best possible experience. He took us to the perfect spots to witness the most amazing Northern Lights display, and his photography skills ensured we left with beautiful memories. The food provided was delicious, and I really appreciated the attention to gluten-free options—such a thoughtful touch! Everything about the tour was well-organized and personalized, making it a truly magical night.
